Flat Belt conveyors, explained

What is a flat belt conveyor?

A flat belt conveyor moves product on one continuous belt, usually PVC or PU, running over a flat bed between a drive pulley and a tail pulley. The unbroken surface supports items of almost any shape, from single tablets to cartons, and leaves no gaps for small parts to fall through. It is the simplest and most economical way to move product along the level or up a gentle incline. That makes it the default for inspection, packing and transfer between machines.

Which flat belt conveyor fits the job?

The standard Flat Belt conveyor handles general horizontal transfer, from 0.3 to 30 metres. The Inclined Flat Belt moves product between heights at 7.5° to 45°, with cleated or rough-top belt so it does not slide back. The Knife-Edge conveyor turns the belt over a 12 to 20 mm edge, so tiny or delicate products can cross a very small gap between machines. The Packing conveyor runs slowly, at 3 to 10 m/min, with side tables for manual and semi-automatic packing. The Massage conveyor settles and orients product as it flows.

What sizes and materials are standard?

The standard Flat Belt conveyor is 20 to 500 mm wide, and up to 1600 mm for heavy duty. The inclined version runs 65 to 1200 mm wide. Speeds range from 3 m/min on the packing conveyor to 50 m/min on the knife-edge. Frames are stainless steel SS 304, mild steel or aluminium, with SS 304 or SS 316 for the massage conveyor, and PVC or PU belt. Every type runs on 220 V or 415 V, at a working height of 700 to 900 mm or to the line.

Can a flat belt conveyor be built to our layout?

Yes. Every KFlexiTrack conveyor is built to the application, not picked from stock. The work starts with a study of the product and the line, then a layout, GA drawings and a 3D CAD model, all signed off before a single sheet is cut. Lengths, widths, heights, drive side and finish are set to your floor, and the frames are cut, bent, machined and welded in-house in Goa. KFlexiTrack then installs, aligns and commissions the line on site and trains the operators.

Does KFlexiTrack supply conveyors outside India?

Yes. KFlexiTrack supplies customers across India and exports conveyors abroad. Every machine is designed, built and run-in at the works in Ponda, Goa before it is dispatched. For an export enquiry, send the product, the rate it has to move at, the floor plan and the destination country through the contact page, or message the works on WhatsApp at +91 93258 43201.

What does a quote need, and how long does it take?

Send the product, the rate it has to move at, and the floor plan. From those, KFlexiTrack comes back with a layout, a specification and a price, normally within five working days. Product photos, drawings and the machines the conveyor has to meet all shorten the first reply. For anything urgent, call the works on +91 93258 43201. After hand-over, spares, preventive maintenance and retrofits are handled for the life of the machine.

Drawn before it is cut

Application study, layout and general arrangement drawings are produced in-house for every type in the family, then the machine is fabricated, run-in and commissioned on the same drawing.
